The Throwback club includes a skein of yarn inspired by pop culture from our past. And a matching sticker, made by me! And goodies, always goodies.
Vintage paint by number paintings have a charm that the new ones just don't have. This month's skein will be inspired by their beautiful vintage color palette and whimsical scenery. You can expect greens, blues, rusty oranges and chocolaty browns. I've been wanting to do a colorway inspired by these paintings for a long time. It's going to be so fun!
Non yarny quick aside - A long, long time ago I had a blog where I wrote about all the cool vintage things I thrifted. I collected, and still do, vintage paint by numbers. My Grandma faithfully read every post and one day when I was visiting, she mentioned she had some of those "old paintings" I said I like. She had my Grandpa get a box out of the garage that probably hadn't moved in 30 years. He new exactly what she was talking about and where it was. Inside this box were 4 beautifully painted paint by numbers. My Grandma painted them (3 are in the graphic above) in the 60's!!! They now hang in my studio where I can see them and think of her everyday. I'll treasure them forever!
Sock - This yarn is perfect not just for socks, but for all kinds of things! It's soft but durable and will stand up to a lot of abuse. It is 4 ply, 75% super wash merino wool and 25% nylon, which gives it it's durability. Each skein is 437 yards and 100 grams.
Sport - This sport is soft and squishy with great bounce and a lovely drape. It is 3 ply, 100% superwash merino wool with 328 yds/100g.
DK - Just like my signature sock yarn, this is a soft but sturdy workhorse yarn. Great for sweaters and hats. It is 4 ply 75% superwash merino wool, 25% nylon with 245 yds/100g.
Worsted - This stuff is soft and really nice to work with. It's great for colorwork and hardwearing items. It is a 4 ply 100% superwash merino wool in 100 gram skeins with 218 yards.
Chonky - The squish, the twist, the softness! I could go on and on about this beautiful chubby yarn. Great for cowls, hats and super comfy sweaters. It is 3 ply 100% superwash merino wool with106 yds/100g.
These skeins are hand dyed in a smoke free studio with professional acid dyes.
Hand wash your finished project in cold water and lay flat to dry.
Don't be brave. Keep your knit or crocheted items out of the dryer.
